Project Scorpio Becomes Xbox One X
Today at Microsoft’s E3 press conference they unveiled the latest console in the Xbox One family the Xbox One X. The new console is Microsoft’s most power console released with the ability for true 4k gaming.
Most of the specs match what the rumors were from last year. The system comes with six teraflops of GPU power running at 1.17Ghz and 12 GB GDDR5 Ram. These specs will allow the Xbox One X to run games in full 4K with 8 million pixels, HDR, wide color gamut, Dolby Atmos sounds and 4K UHD Blu-ray playback. To keep things running cool, the XBox One X has a liquid-cooled vapor chamber to prevent overheating. The console will also enhance games that are running 1080p or lower to look much better when played on the One X. However, it won’t push those up to 4K unless the developers create a patch to update those games to do so. The new console sports an all black and boxy look similar to the Xbox One S. Microsoft claims this system is the smallest console they have ever made.

Similar to Sony with the PS4 Pro, Microsoft will label games that can take advantage of the Xbox One X hardware as “Xbox One X Enhanced.” Some of those games were showing such as Metro: Exodus, Forza 7, Assasin’s Creed Origins and probably the best looking game they showed that takes advantage of all the power coming from the new console, Anthem from BioWare.
The new XBox One X will be available on November 7th and will go for $499 price point. An expected price point that could easily be more expensive given the specs that come with the console. Share your thoughts below and let us know what you think of the brand new system.
