PAX East 2024 Show Floor Walkthrough
Hey everyone! We’re at PAX East 2024, and today we’re doing our annual walk-through of the show floor. It’s the second day here, on Friday, so it’s a bit more packed than usual. We’re doing this in glorious 4K 60p this year, so it should look really nice. We’ll walk through everything, try to see as much as possible, and I’ll talk here and there. But I really just want you guys to experience the show floor for yourselves, especially for those who couldn’t attend this year.
Shoutout to Xen
I definitely want to give a shoutout to Xen, hopefully, I pronounced that right. They sent me the Crane M3, and it’s a really cool gimbal. It’s allowing me to use my current setup and get this nice quality for you. So definitely shout out to them for sure.
Our PAX East Journey Begins
We’ll start at the Final Fantasy booth. Nintendo is right behind us, but we’ll swing back around later. We’ll try to walk through every section and see as much as we can. It’s kind of the end of the day so it should be a little easier to walk through. That’s a pretty cool fan wall from Be Quiet. We definitely need to check out the hardware section; that’s usually my favorite part.
Hardware and Indie Delights
We see Gigabyte here. We’re in a section with a lot of independent stuff, different arts and crafts, pictures, and things you can buy. There’s also some hardware stuff here. The artworks are always so cool. We’ll try to walk slow but at a good pace so the video isn’t too long, but you still get to see a lot of stuff.
A Quick Detour
We’re going to cut through here quickly. This is usually the food truck section, but I want to get over to the PC area. There are some pretty good food trucks here though. There are always long lines everywhere, so just be aware of that if you ever come to PAX. I definitely recommend the Zenin waffles. They’re amazing!
The PC Area and Tabletop Games
Here’s the PC area, where people are showing off their systems, gaming. There are some tournaments and VR stuff here too. This is the tabletop section where you see a lot of really nice and pretty setups. You’ve got Star Wars Unlimited, Dungeons & Dragons stuff, cool dice, lots of board games, books, and unique games you wouldn’t normally see in stores.
Gamer Masks and Other Cool Finds
Look at these really cool gamer masks! I might have to pick one up myself. You can buy stuff here at PAX, unlike most other trade shows where you usually can’t. There are even books and stuffed animals over here.
A Sad Disappointment: Wild Bill Soda
Unfortunately, one thing that’s disappointing this year is the absence of Wild Bill Soda. I had my PAX cup ready, but they are not here this year. That’s a bummer because they have some pretty delicious soda, and I only really have it when they’re here. Sushi Boat was asking about Wild Bill; I was asking for you.
Tekken Tournaments and Cool Cosplays
Here’s where they usually have a lot of the tournaments. This year it looks like it’s going to be Tekken 8. We’re on the walk-through still! Look at the great cosplays. Usually, on Saturday, everyone comes out for cosplays. It’s really cool.
Indie Games and Wooden Wonders
We’re in the indie game section. Windwood always has this cool wooden desk and gaming tables. I’d love to have something like that in my house.
Looking for Something Special
We’re looking for dice, dungeons and dragons cards, Pokemon cards. The layout is slightly different this year than in previous years. This year’s layout is a little more spread out.
A Tour of the Aisle
We’ll go through as many aisles as we can. Let’s walk around this way and go through the other end.
Mountain Dew, Xbox, and More
We’re headed back this way. You can see the staff lining up to get ready to close down for the day. We’re winding down, but we’ll get to all of it. We’ve got more areas to explore. We’re in the Mountain Dew area. The Mountain Dew booth is smaller than usual this year. A lot of the booths are smaller than in the past. There’s also Xbox stuff over there.
Pokémon Trading Cards and Classic Games
We’re in the Pokémon trading card area. The Behemoth is always here. I used to play a lot of Castle Crashers. It’s good to see they’re back. It’s the 20th Anniversary of PAX. It’s been PAX East in Boston for 13 or 14 years now.
The Grand Finale: A Wrap-Up of PAX East 2024
And that’s pretty much PAX East 2024! I hope you enjoyed that. Let me know if there is anything specific you want to see while I’m here for the next couple of days. Hopefully, we got enough of the show floor for you guys out there who couldn’t attend. See you in the next one!
