Samsung & Google have decide to postpone the Nexus Prime event schedule for Oct. 11th during CTIA. There isn’t an exact reason stated as to why the Samsung “Unpacked” event is postponed. However they did say that they will be rescheduling the event for a later time and will contact us when that date and venue has been decided. There must be a huge reason for this event to be postponed during CTIA Fall which is one of the mobile industries biggest events.
This event was expected to be the launch of the Nexus Prime and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which Google says will bridge the gap between Android 3.x and and Android 2.x apps. Eric Schmidt did says originally we were to expect the latest version of android in November so it shouldn’t be too much longer before we finally see what Samsung and Google have to offer.
Statement from Samsung & Google:
Samsung and Google have decided to postpone the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event during the CTIA in San Diego, previously scheduled for Oct. 11. Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product. We would ask for the understanding of our clients and media for any inconvenience caused. We will announce a new date and venue in due course.
