Acer makes the Swift 5 the lightest laptop in the world.
One of Acer big focused for its laptop products is portability. They want to make the thinnest, lightest and most portable laptop hardware possible. They previewed the Swift 5 earlier this year, and now it’s officially coming to the US and Europe.
The 15-inch model will be the lightest in the market just weight in at 990 grams. The body is made of a thin magnesium-lithium alloy that measures only at 15.9mm. While that is incredibly light and thin, the Swift 5 still packs power with an 8th generation Intel Core i5-8265U or Core i7-8565U processor with up to 16 GB DDR4 RAM and up to 1 TB of NVMe SSD storage.
The display is full HD 1080p with thin 5.87mm bezels which Acer says gives the Swift 5 an 87.6% screen-to-body ratio. The Swift 5 also features gigabit Wi-Fi, USB type C port for charging and fast data transfer, two USB 3.1 Type A ports and an HDMI port.
If you’re already looking to pick one up you will need to wait until late fall to grab one. The Swift 5 will launch in Europe first for €1,099 in November. The US will have to wait a couple of months to get one in January 2019 for $1,099.
