Today Opera release Opera Mini 5 beta for Android and its available in the Android Market right now. It features the same addition such as tabbed browsing, dialer bookmark home screen and of course faster page loading that Windows Mobile, Blackberry and iPhone versions currently have now.  Check out the screenshots an first impressions inside.

Users of Windows Mobile and Blackberry are familiar with Opera Mini already and how great a mobile browser it can be. As so far the experience has been good for most of the sites I went to.

However, BWOne.com full site doesn’t render fully in Opera Mini but it does work the mobile page just fine. 

Currently there is no multi-touch capabilities and there is no word if those will come when more devices have Android 2.1 on theme. The dialer for your favorite pages looks great and the way you switch tabs has a nice fluid animation on it.

The LG Expo is the first Smartphone in the US from LG and its a Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone with a unique feature.  It comes with its own detachable projector. The projector has a screen size of up to 42 inches. The LG Expo is available on the AT&T network

On HTC official twitter patch they have announced that HTC HD2 will receive a official Windows Mobile 7 upgrade whenever Windows Mobile 7 is to be released. Rumored to be coming out at last as Q4 2010. The hardware specs should last long enough for it to be still a powerful phone by the time Windows Mobile 7 comes out.  But the questions is when will it come out?

Recently I was looking at all the smartphones that are out and the OS that are available now and was wondering to myself, What’s up windows mobile? What is the problem and what are some of the solutions they can do.

One of the main things they need to do which is obvious is to change the user interface to make it much more user friendly and easy to use. Many new users to Windows Mobile devices that don’t have some type of skin over the device have a hard time getting around to doing the things they need to do. A better Zune HD style interface maybe would be a good first step.

But they also should make sure not to alienate the users out there that create custom roms. Custom roms allow users to have different exerpinces with thier phone and the majority of the Windows Mobile user base is from this group. If they alienate them it could spell disater for Windows Mobile 7.

There is some give and take that Microsoft needs to do with Windows Mobile but the main thing they need to do is to do something soon or ese they won’t have a marketshare to release to
