The Samsung Focus 2 sports a 1.4 GHz single-core Snapdragon CPU, 4-inch Super AMOLED display with 480×800 pixels, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video, as well as a hard glossy plastic finish to wrap it all up. Oh, and did I mention it’s a 4g LTE capable smartphone. Devices such as these are redefining what an actual budget/feature encompasses. Initial impressions of the Samsung Focus 2 were surprisingly good. With an attract price point of $49.99, I was expecting a rather cheap feeling all around, but Samsung proved me wrong.  If this is where the future is headed, Samsung and Windows Phone seem to be leading the way. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is an android 4.0 ICS tablet that comes with a 1 Ghz dual-core processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3 megapixel rear facing camera, VGA front facing camera, 4,000 mAh battery and 1024 x 600 resolution on a 7 inch display. The Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 is a PMP (Portable Media Player) from Samsung  that comes with a 3.6 inch HVGA display and powered by Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread with Touch Wiz UI on top. For connections the Galaxy Player comes with Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi N and GPS. It comes with 8 GB of storage with a microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB of storage.  It’s a small and light device that should fix just find in the pocket. check our unboxing and we’ll have a full review coming soon.

The Samsung Galaxy S III has been the talk of the town when it has come to android phones the last week. Since its announcement in early May there has been a ton of buzz about the phone from it being compared to the the HTC One X before its officially available, some people’s disappointments in specs and design and the new Nature UX software experince on Touch Wiz. Well we now have the change to get a true in-depth look at the Galaxy S3 and I can tell you that it looks much better than the pictures show. In person is the only way to appreciate the true beauty of the design. The display is gorgeous and I’ll even say looks better than the Galaxy Nexus. They both use HD Super AMOLED but the Galaxy S III is just a bit bigger at 4.8 inches and even with that bigger screen size the device is still thin and comfortable to hold. Here we have a hardware comparison between two Windows Phones on AT&T, Samsung Focus 2 Vs. Nokia Lumia 900. AT&T keeps kicking out Windows Phones to market and giving users the biggest selection of smartphones possible. It’s been 48 hours since the Samsung Galaxy S III announcement was made and the questions is now is it a disappointment or were your expectations too high?

There were many out there expecting the moon from Samsung when it came to the Galaxy S3 with rumors of 1080p screens, 16 megapixel cameras and the ability to do your homework, mow the lawn and get you a girlfriend. Well with expectations that high there was bound to be some disappointment folks out there and they have expressed how they feel about it. The two key issues that they have is the design and hardware specs.

The design is not what people expected and looks like a step back from their previous designs like the Galaxy S2 and InFuse 4G. That could be due to the many lawsuits from Apple or they could just be trying something different. Who knows but what’s for sure is that when it hits the US the design will be different body wise for each of the carriers so we’ll see how that turns out.

Now as far as hardware goes yes they went par for the course there matching much of what you see with high-end Android 4.0 phones with a quad-core Exynos processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 Megapixel camera with zero shutter lag and 1080p video capture, 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution. These specs are similar to the current top Android 4.0 phone in the market the HTC One X.  So people were expecting them to raise the bar here and they didn’t but I think what people are not focusing on here is where Samsung really putting their efforts in which is the software.

Pretty much every top-tier android phone that will come out will have similar hardware specs and Samsung knows that the software and user experience will be the key to separate themselves from the rest of the Android manufactures. There is where Touch Wiz with Nature UX comes in and the upgrades to S Voice with “Siri like” features, S Beam which is an extension of Android Beam, the ability to sense if you’re looking at your phone to turn it on or off with the front-facing camera and being able to just raise the phone to your face when you’re texting someone to immediately call them. There are just a few of the “smart” features that Samsung has put into the Galaxy S3 to give people the best experience possible and that’s going to be the key. It’s where iOS wins and what’s also winning people over to Windows Phone.

So while the new Samsung Galaxy S III does have the immediate “wow” factor it may just be the “killer android device” this year once we all get a chance to fully experience it.  Share your thoughts.

With today’s announcement of the new Samsung Galaxy S III it brings on a new challenger to the top Android smartphone spot that is currently held by the HTC One X. Both  Android 4.0 smartphones come with very similar specs and features which are both the most powerful we’ve see on Android smartphones to date. It will be a very interesting and close battle once the Galaxy S3 is released and we can get a full on versus between both smartphones to see which one will reign king of Android.
