Nintendo announced today that Hulu Plus will be available on their Nintendo Wii and Nintendo 3DS. You’ll be able to stream thousands of TV show, TV Movies and Clips available on Hulu (We assume anything from Sony will be blocked). There is no set date on when this will show up but it will fall under your Hulu Plus subscription with is $7.99  per month. So if your paying you should be all set to go.

The 3DS will also be getting 3D video capture at the end of November. You can can record up to 10 minutes of video and create your own stop-motion animation videos on the handheld console.

Hulu Plus: With Hulu Plus, Wii and Nintendo 3DS users will be able to instantly stream thousands of TV episodes – including the entire current season of popular shows like Modern Family, Glee, Dancing with the Stars, The Biggest Loser, House and Grey’s Anatomy – from premium content partners like ABC, Comedy Central, FOX, NBC, MTV and many more. Hulu Plus also offers access to classic TV favorites likeLost, Battlestar Galactica, The Hills and hundreds of popular and award-winning movies. Hulu Plus is available through a separate subscription fee of $7.99 per month with limited advertising.
Nintendo 3DS System Update: At the end of November, a new system update will deliver a range of cool new features and enhancements, including 3D video capture, which will let users record up to 10 minutes of 3D video and enable people to create their own 3D stop-motion animation videos. The update will also add new puzzles to the StreetPass™ Mii Plaza™ and a new dungeon to Find Mii. Other features will be announced in the future.

Games Coming to the Nintendo eShop:

• Freakyforms™: Your Creations, Alive! lets players create creatures and bring them to life. This game is all about creation, customization and exploration. Available in November for $6.99.
• Developed with 3D game play in mind, Pushmo™ asks players to solve more than 250 puzzles by pulling and pushing blocks. Players can also create their own custom puzzles. Launches in December.
• Swapnote™ gives Nintendo 3DS owners the chance to send 3D messages to their friends via the SpotPass™ and StreetPass features. Users can hand-write messages in 3D and also include picture and sound. Available for free download in December.

Nintendo Wii U Announced

We are here live for Nintendo’s E3 press conference live blogging you all the details from the big event. What will be the name of the new Nintendo Console? What big titles will be coming to the 3DS and what else will be coming from the Big N.

Its official the Nintendo Wii has dropped down to a MSRP of $149.99 on May 15. It will include Mario Kart Wii and the Wii Wheel bundled in which will replace the current bundle that has Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort in it. The Wii Wheel, Wii Remote Plus and nunchuck will match the console color you choose to purchase which will be either black or white. The black Wii Wheel will also go for $9.99 separately

They have also announced Nintendo Selects which will be there best sellers/greatest hits line that will go for $19.99 for any game in that group.

You also have to think with this price drop they will introduce more colors like they did with the GameCube so maybe a sliver, pink, blue or red color option maybe? This officially makes the Wii $100 cheaper than the Nintendo 3DS which probably by the holiday season a price cut will come for that too. Ever since it was first announced at E3 the PDP Headbanger Chat Headset has been highly anticipated. Does our review show that it lives up to the hype? Read inside.

Hardware

The Headbanger chat headset comes in two different versions a standard white one that matches the Wii and a Call Of Duty Black Ops edition which comes in black with the Call of Duty logo and this is the version that we are going to review. The headset is made of all plastic with a rubber earpiece and has a solid feel to it.  It comes with a 10 ft cable and comes in handy with since it needs to plug into the back of the Wii. The long cable gives enough slack so it doesn’t just hang in the air and you don’t feel constricted down if you move around a bit. It comes with a long plastic piece at the end of the cable which I feel is a bit to long at the end. While it is very sturdy I would worry for those who keep their Wii out in the open and could possible trip and break it off in the Wii. I think just a quarter of the size would work and would give more cable space

. 

The headset is left ear only so hopefully you are comfortable with that because you can’t swap it. It does fit comfortable over the ear and the mouth piece will rotate up and down with easy and you can control the volume with the dial wheel which is on the side on the headset. Press on the top of the headset will allow you to mute the mic and a red light will indicate this.  Good hardware build from PDP here.

Usage

When using it during gameplay it worked great. I could hear people good even though the headset doesn’t get as loud as you would expect it does sound well at its loudest point. People could hear me well  through the mic and often commented how well it sounded.   Since I couldn’t record this during in game play I decide to see if it could plug into my PC which it did and I was able to record a call with Thunder E from Booredatwork.com to give you an example of the audio quality in the video review.

Overall

PDP did a great job with the first in game headset with mic for the Nintendo Wii.  The quality is great and the easy of use is on par with all other accessories on the Nintendo Wii. We hope in the future that they will be able to find a way to make it wireless or find a way for it to plug into the Wii Remote.

Netflix Now Available as a Download from the Wii Shop Channel

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Beginning today, Netflix members in the United States and Canada can stream content through their Wii™ consoles with Netflix installed on their Wii Menu. The Netflix disc that was used for instant streaming on the Wii console will no longer be required. Netflix members who have a plan starting at $8.99 a month ($7.99 in Canada), a Wii console and a broadband Internet connection can now instantly watch movies and TV shows streamed directly to their TVs by simply downloading Netflix from the Wii Shop Channel. This new channel is available at no extra cost. The new disc-free option installs Netflix on the Wii Menu, making it convenient for Wii owners to quickly access streaming movies and TV shows.

PDP is known for there high quality and unique 3rd party controllers. In this review we take a look at the Nintendo Wii Remote & Nunchuck from PDP.

Hardware

Now in most cases I would be the first one to tell you for Nintendo accessories to avoid 3rd party but PDP has convinced me otherwise as the hardware build on this is solid and even gives the feel of a 1st party controller. The outside of the Wii Remote  is made of clear solid plastic which actually feels better than the original controller plastic. The button configuration is unique as the minus and plus buttons are at the top next to the D-pad and the 1 and 2 buttons on the bottom are in a more traditional controller style diagonal from each other.

The nunchuck is made of the same solid plastic and is actually a bit skinner than the original.  The best feature on this Wii nunchuck is the retractable cable which makes for easy travel and much less of a wire mess. You can control how much of the wire you need for optimal comfort when playing.   With the clear casing you can see the mechanics inside and the LED that light up blue to match the blue and sky blue PCB boards in the controller.The build quality is very impressive.

Usage

When using the controller it was comfortable to use and didn’t feel too doo while playing.  Now in some guys such as Metroid Prime 3 I had to get used to the minute and plus sign at the top near the D-Pad but that was more muscle memory from the old controller because once you get used to it become much more useful. The lights are bright but not too bright so that it blinds you. It gives you the right type of lighting to play in dim to dark environments. The controls kind of feel like glow sticks for a techno club when you hold them.

Overall

High quality controllers here from PDP and the look and button design gives it a unique feel and will ad some flare to your gaming experience.  IF you are in the market for a new controller and want something different the PDP Afterglow controllers for the Wii Remote and Nunchuck should be at the top of your list.
