<p>They have also announced Nintendo Selects which will be there best sellers/greatest hits line that will go for $19.99 for any game in that group.</p>
<p>You also have to think with this price drop they will introduce more colors like they did with the GameCube so maybe a sliver, pink, blue or red color option maybe? This officially makes the Wii $100 cheaper than the Nintendo <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/3ds/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with 3DS">3DS</a> which probably by the holiday season a price cut will come for that too. Who knows for sure but read the press release below for more info.</p>

<p>Ever since it was <a href="http://www.bwone.com/pdp-wii-headset-at-e3-2010/">first announced at E3</a> the <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/pdp-headbanger/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with PDP Headbanger">PDP Headbanger</a> Chat Headset has been highly anticipated. Does our review show that it lives up to the hype? Read inside.</p>
<p><span id="more-6324"></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Hardware</span></strong></p>
<p>The Headbanger chat headset comes in two different versions a standard white one that matches the <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/wii/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Wii">Wii</a> and a <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/call-of-duty-black-ops/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Call of Duty Black Ops">Call Of Duty Black Ops</a> edition which comes in black with the Call of Duty logo and this is the version that we are going to review. The headset is made of all plastic with a rubber earpiece and has a solid feel to it.  It comes with a 10 ft <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/cable/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Cable">cable</a> and comes in handy with since it needs to plug into the back of the Wii. The long <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/cable/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Cable">cable</a> gives enough slack so it doesn’t just hang in the air and you don’t feel constricted down if you move around a bit. It comes with a long plastic piece at the end of the <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/cable/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Cable">cable</a> which I feel is a bit to long at the end. While it is very sturdy I would worry for those who keep their Wii out in the open and could possible trip and break it off in the Wii. I think just a quarter of the size would work and would give more <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/cable/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Cable">cable</a> space</p>
<p align="center">.  <a href="http://media.bwone.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/pdp_wii_headbanger_chat_headset_call_of_duty_black_ops-2.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="PDP Wii Headbanger Chat Headset Review photo" src="http://media.bwone.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/pdp_wii_headbanger_chat_headset_call_of_duty_black_ops-2_thumb.jpg" alt="pdp wii headbanger chat headset call of duty black ops 2 thumb PDP Wii Headbanger Chat Headset Review" width="244" height="139" border="0" /></a><a href="http://media.bwone.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/pdp_wii_headbanger_chat_headset_call_of_duty_black_ops.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="PDP Wii Headbanger Chat Headset Review photo" src="http://media.bwone.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/pdp_wii_headbanger_chat_headset_call_of_duty_black_ops_thumb.jpg" alt="pdp wii headbanger chat headset call of duty black ops thumb PDP Wii Headbanger Chat Headset Review" width="244" height="139" border="0" /></a></p>
<p>The headset is left ear only so hopefully you are comfortable with that because you can’t swap it. It does fit comfortable over the ear and the mouth piece will rotate up and down with easy and you can control the volume with the dial wheel which is on the side on the headset. Press on the top of the headset will allow you to mute the mic and a red light will indicate this.  Good hardware build from PDP here.</p>

<p><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong>Usage</strong></span></p>
<p>When using it during gameplay it worked great. I could hear people good even though the headset doesn’t get as loud as you would expect it does sound well at its loudest point. People could hear me well  through the mic and often commented how well it sounded.   Since I couldn’t record this during in game play I decide to see if it could plug into my PC which it did and I was able to record a call with Thunder E from <a href="http://booredatwork.com" target="_blank">Booredatwork.com</a> to give you an example of the <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/audio/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Audio">audio</a> quality in the <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/video/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Video">video</a> review.<br />

<p><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Overall</span></strong></p>
<p>PDP did a great job with the first in game headset with mic for the <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/nintendo/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Nintendo">Nintendo</a> Wii.  The quality is great and the easy of use is on par with all other accessories on the <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/nintendo/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Nintendo">Nintendo</a> Wii. We hope in the future that they will be able to find a way to make it wireless or find a way for it to plug into the Wii Remote.</p>

<p>Now in most <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/cases/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with cases">cases</a> I would be the first one to tell you for Nintendo <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/accessories/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Accessories">accessories</a> to avoid 3rd party but PDP has convinced me otherwise as the hardware build on this is solid and even gives the feel of a 1st party controller. The outside of the <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/wii-remote/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with wii remote">Wii Remote</a>&#160; is made of clear solid plastic which actually feels better than the original controller plastic. The button configuration is unique as the minus and plus buttons are at the top next to the D-pad and the 1 and 2 buttons on the bottom are in a more traditional controller style diagonal from each other. </p>

<p align="left">The nunchuck is made of the same solid plastic and is actually a bit skinner than the original.&#160; The best feature on this Wii nunchuck is the retractable <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/cable/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Cable">cable</a> which makes for easy <a href="http://bwone.com/tag/travel/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with travel">travel</a> and much less of a wire mess. You can control how much of the wire you need for optimal comfort when playing.&#160;&#160; With the clear casing you can see the mechanics inside and the LED that light up blue to match the blue and sky blue PCB boards in the controller. The build quality is very impressive. </p>

<p><font size="4"><strong>Usage</strong></font></p>
<p>When using the controller it was comfortable to use and didn’t feel too doo while playing.&#160; Now in some guys such as Metroid Prime 3 I had to get used to the minute and plus sign at the top near the D-Pad but that was more muscle memory from the old controller because once you get used to it become much more useful. The lights are bright but not too bright so that it blinds you. It gives you the right type of lighting to play in dim to dark environments. The controls kind of feel like glow sticks for a techno club when you hold them. </p>
<p><font size="4"><strong>Overall</strong></font></p>
<p>High quality controllers here from PDP and the look and button design gives it a unique feel and will ad some flare to your gaming experience.&#160; IF you are in the market for a new controller and want something different the PDP Afterglow controllers for the Wii Remote and Nunchuck should be at the top of your list. </p>
