ENERGIZER(R) Introduces New Inductive Charger to Meet Consumer Demand for Wireless Power

Leads the Way with One of the First Universal Qi Technology Products to Market

As consumers rely more heavily than ever on devices such as smartphones and cell phones for everything from texting and talking, to working and shopping, their demand for more power and more convenient charging options has skyrocketed. According to market research firm iSuppli, Corp., shipments of electronic products with wireless charging capability are anticipated to increase from 3.6 million units in 2010, to 234.9 million units in 2014. Designed in cooperation with WPC co-founder ConvenientPower, the first generation of the Energizer_(R) Inductive Charger is designed to conveniently charge up to three devices at one time. It features two large inductive charging zones that don’t require locking the device into a precise position, so consumers can simply set down their phone and be sure that it will be charged and ready to go. It also has a USB port so it’s easy to charge an additional device such as a phone, headset, mp3 player, camera or GPS. Two LED charge lights indicate that the device is charging.

The Energizer_(R) Inductive Charger will be introduced with a Qi Sleeve for the iPhone(R) 3GS/3G and a one-time replacement Qi Door for the BlackBerry_(R) Curve(TM) 8900, so consumers can enjoy the convenience of Qi right away. Soon, consumers can expect to have Qi built right into many of their devices.

With the confirmation that T-Mobile will be release the new Blackberry Curve 8900 anytime within the next two weeks or so for business users and its looking like February for the rest of the consumers.  Below is the rumored pricing which is pretty much on par with the last Curve’s initial pricing.

Blackberry NA T-Mobile 8900 Page

With the Bold already released in the US and still some time before it reaches other US carriers the smaller brother in the Curve 8900 is rumored to be released on T-Mobile 2/19/2009.  The pic up above is of an AT&T branded one but rumors float that this is headed to T-Mobile first.  Makes sense since the Bold is still exclusive on AT&T  for a little while.

It didn’t take too long after the new blackberry curve showed up on T-Mobile’s Germany website before Research In Motion (RIM) announced the Blackberry Curve 8900 heading over to US Shores in the 1Q of 2009. No word on which US carrier will be the first on the block with it.

Since this is on T-Mobile Germany website it won’t be to much longer before it probably hits T-Mobile USA shores so we can get our hands on it.

 BlackBerry Curve 8900 hands on : Boy Genius Report

For Windows Mobile users, the HTC Kaiser / TyTN II / MDA Vario III / AT&T 8925 (“Tilt”) US release is equivalent in excitement to the launch of another handset widely anticipated by Apple fans, but unlike the iPhone, poor WinMo diehards have no definitive date at which to target their enthusiasm. We’ve heard numerous rumored release windows before — and most recently, word of yet another possible delay — with none having panned out so far, meaning you should take the following tidbit with the usual skepticism: e-tailer Negri Electronics has started taking pre-orders on both the 8925 (pictured above) and camera-less 8900, and claims that units are expected to be in stock on Sunday, September 30th. If the photo they’re running is indeed the AT&T production version, potential buyers can be somewhat relieved that the color scheme has not changed from the unlocked model (unlike the fugly offering from T-Mobile Germany), but as we expected, the front cam and all possibility of hacked video calling have been eliminated. Hey, gotta give the early adopters something for spending double the subsidized price.
