At GDC 2010 Sony officially announces their long developed motion controller technology now call the PlayStation Move. The new platform will off developers similar motion controller technology that the Nintendo Wii offers with the PS3.
The system will use the PlayStastion Eye to track your movement with the wand and you will be able to use the subcontroller for your analog and d-pad movements. Sony says that this will all be included in the starter kit with a game for “under $100.” There is no official word on exact release date or price just yet.
This new platform gives Sony a new set of developers to access but some feel such at Thunder E from BooredAtWork that this may be too little too late for Sony. I do somewhat agree with him because I feel Sony will have an uphill battle to clime with the the PlayStation Move and will need to make a big splash if the expect to put a dent in the market.
