Colby Curtin a 10 year old little girl suffering from terminal vascular cancer to her mom that she wanted to live long enough to see the new Pixar movie UP. The family called the studio and guess and employees name to get past the automated system to explain the situation to the first live employee they could get. When Pixar heard the story they immediately went down to the hospital with the movie on DVD and toys and stuff animals from the movie.
Quote from the OC Register:
Colby couldn’t see the screen because the pain kept her eyes closed so her mother gave her a play-by-play of the film.
"Do you think you can hang on?" Colby’s mother said.
"I’m ready (to die), but I’m going to wait for the movie," the girl replied.
At the end of the film, the mother asked if her daughter enjoyed the movie and Colby nodded yes, Lisa Curtin said.
Colby passed away later on that evening but not without getting her last wish fulfilled
BWOne.com would like to pass on their thoughts and prayers to the family and give kudos to Pixar for coming though they way they did.
