At Microsoft’s CES ‘09 keynote Steve Ballmer announced the availability of Windows 7 Beta 1 which is available now to download for MDSN, TechNet and TechBeta user everyone else will have to wait until this Friday January 9th for the beta to be available at http://www.microsoft.com/windows7
Also system requirements have been listed as well which are definitely less power hungry than Windows Vista.
- 1GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
- 1GB of main memory
- 16GB of available disk space
- Support for DX9 graphics with 128MB of memory (for the Aero interface)
- A DVD-R/W drive
Windows Live has also been announced as globally available. Some items are still in beta in the suite.
