[..YouTube..] I’m looking into this PC for the Complete Care warranty. Do you have any experience with their tech support/warranty? Its gonna be this or the Acer 5920. Thanks in advance for your response.

[..YouTube..] I second Bowman’s opinion, great laptop…sucks someone ripped off your initial review… i noticed that and was like wtf. good job on the review tho.

[..YouTube..] hey both the vids were good gr8 job….am plannin to buy this one just had a few questions that how much diff does the processor make, if i get the 7250 insted of the 7500 and same abt the graphics card 128mb/256mb….am gonna just use the laptop for multimedia, internet a few projects and some gaming…

[..YouTube..] Can’t wait this is my first notebook, it ships on 1/21/08. Question though I got the Blu-ray option. How do you think it will affect my movie viewing at 1280×800 resolution or should I upgrade? If it’s ok I’ll keep my native res., it’s coming anyway.

[..YouTube..] I actually just got the Complete Car warranty as they gave me a courtesy call on it a yesterday. At my job we are a Dell shop and I’ve found their tech support to be good. Not too many hassles and we get our parts the very next day.

[..YouTube..] One of the most important components of a computer is the processor so you don’t want to skimp on it but that doesn’t mean go all out. The T7500 is a good medium between a top notch processor and not going overboard. (based on US pricing) I believe the 4MB cache helps in making it close to desktop processor speed. As for the graphics card I would get the 256MB its not that much more (based on US pricing) at it will future proof it some.

[..YouTube..] Hi. Cool review and nice to see that this notebook made such a positive impression (i liked the biscuit test aswell). Could you answer 2 question. Did you allready check the battery life of the notebook in practice. Im not sure wether to get the 6-cell or 9-cell battery. And was a Windows recovery CD/DVD included? Thanks in advance.

    [..YouTube..] Hi.Very nice review.

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=nagostinelli nagostinelli

[..YouTube..] Hello. Very nice review. I’m also interested in buying this notebook so I would like to know something more about heat and specially noise. I’ve read elsewhere that the HDD is quite loud. Is it true?

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=zwitekcom zwitekcom

[..YouTube..] Great review. Thanks for it. I’ve received my unit yesterday. Brilliant machine as far.

[..YouTube..] well done, ordering a m1530 with blu-ray got more info from your review than i did from dell.

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Poorestgump Poorestgump

[..YouTube..] I supposed almost everyone mentioned from what I’ve read that the DVD slot load was a bit noisy but quiets down.

[..YouTube..] haha i love the biscuit review

[..YouTube..] Don’t waste your time on youtube. Make a lot of money working online a few minutes / day. Find out how at: PLAFA(.)comjjchzipvh aemlyocum spuol pvbwskf sfdiakhb umojpiv blrpwgesh ksff litmtb jvaxepg nhlf ilaatbklh wsyqesr bnszsigt ofbknmlof yruonm

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=bwonedotcom bwonedotcom

[..YouTube..] HDD is a bit louder since I have the 7200rpm one it it. But remember you are very close to where the drive is located so really you will hear it some no matter what speed it is.

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=bwonedotcom bwonedotcom

[..YouTube..] As for heat. All laptops get warm once under heavy usage and also when doing intensive applications. So make no mistake whatever laptop you get will get warm. As for this one it doesn’t get that warm but you can tell when its a bit warmer. With a 7200 rpm hard drive it will get hot to the touch when its running at full speed.

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=bwonedotcom bwonedotcom

[..YouTube..] So I wouldn’t worry too much on these issues as it happens pretty much on all laptops. This does run cooler than most for the components it has in it but don’t except it to be as cold as ice.

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=bwonedotcom bwonedotcom

[..YouTube..] I have the 6 cell battery and it works for me. Get about 4-6 hours depending on what i’m running and how bright the screen is on. When you get the 9-cell battery it will raise the laptop up more and make it a big more bulky. I would evaluate what your needs are and how often will you been running on battery only (its almost impossible now to find a place that doesn’t have plug to charge)

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=bwonedotcom bwonedotcom

[..YouTube..] But always remember the laptop screen is still the same size regardless of resolution. I would use the blu-ray as way to view hi def movies on the road (if i don’t have it already ripped on the laptop) but remember its more for plugging into a TV or projector that will use the full 1080p from it. And also blu-ray is going to steal more battery life away from the unit so if you are going to use it while traveling you may want to get the 9 cell battery. Or a 2nd 6 cell charged up just incase.

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=bwonedotcom bwonedotcom

[..YouTube..] I believe the blu-ray options it really to join with the HDMI out you have on the laptop to put it on an projector or LCD tv to view movies at 1080p. You will get high def from the current monitor and the higher the resolution the better.

Can a solid state hard drive be easily installed on the M1530? Thanks for the review and the awesome biscuit test. Also, I lost all my original accessories, disks, cleaning cloth, etc. I think the butler did it. Do you know where I can get replacements other than Dell? I know it’s a fairly new laptop but hoping somebody sold their system and still has the accessories.

I was looking very closely at this laptop to purchase it but the only problem i see is that people have been complaining about the touchpad and that its ALPS touchpad is worse than the good Syanptics touchpad. I know that the touchpad going crazy for 20-30 seconds by the Bios update has been solved but I just want to know if anybody has an honest opinion as to the smoothness and accuracy of the ALPS touchpad. Also I have heard that if you Replace the ALPS drivers with Synaptic Drivers for the ALPS touchpad that it will make the touchpad perform better and it will still work. I also wanted to know that since closing mechanism of the notebook is a magnet, as I have read, will it mess up the touchpad or other components of the notebook after time? Hoping for some replies, thanks.

yes a solid state drive can be installed into this system.

Hi! Can you please comment on the build quality of the XPS m1530? Of course, I am not expecting a business-class notebook quality, but since it is also listed under small and medium business notebook and can even be configured with Vista Business in the Dell website, I am expecting it should be well-built enough for normal day to day wear and tear. Do you honestly think it is well-built? Is it sturdy? How about the screen hinges? Does it wobble when opened? Do you think this laptop will last a few years?
How about the keyboard feel? Is it okay as a main computer/desktop replacement (and yet portable enough) where you type almost the whole day?
    Thanks in advance!

Very nice review, by the way. Thanks!
