Hello Everyone,

It appears that my ability to obtain the Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy Nexus from RadioShack prior to launch has given me an opportunity to write for BWone.com. With that said I figured an introduction would be in order as my first official BWone.com post.

Who am I and what makes me tick? Well for those of you that know me well, know that I am a jack of all trades. From home remodeling, electrical work and landscaping to a little CSS, WordPress and a lot of corporate systems administration, I’ve basically had my hand in everything. I am by no means a master at any one one thing including writing and blogging, however my desire for technology is what drives me to take on roles that are otherwise out of my wheel house. (i.e. blogging for BWone.com)

On a more personal level – I’ve been happily married for 9 years and have the most beautiful little girl in the world! Those of you with children know that your free time is limited which means most of my posts will be created in the wee hours of the night!

So now that you know I little about who I am, I’d like to thank everyone here at BWone.com for extending this wonderful opportunity to be a part of this niche. I’d also like to ask that you be patient with me as I gain more experience blogging and that any questions or topics you’d like to see discussed, you simply just let me know and I will do my best to accommodate them.

It’s time to give you guys a quick update on what’s going on at  BWOne.com. We haven’t post as many videos or stories recently because we have upgraded the backend of our main site. Its on new hosting that should make the site faster and more responsive. Also if you haven’t had the chance check out our mobile website as well. Just type in bwone.com and the mobile version will come up . If you are using iOS you can save the site on your phone using Web App mode which it will prompt you when you first go to it.

We are starting  newsletter soon. Sign ups are available here and the schedule has not been set just but it will start in June. It will have featured content and top news from our site so sign up.  We will be rolling out a ton of content soon between now and the rest of June with E3, Sprint & Motorola press event which we will be live blogging from both events during the companies press conferences. Hello all  this is just a quick update on BWOne.com. We first want to thank everyone out that that has supported us through all of our media outlets from our website, YouTube channel, Facebook Fan Page and twitter accounts. Your support is appreciated and thank you. We had a lot of success and growth in 2010 and we are going to bring that momentum into 2011.

We should be back on the train with posting videos again as we took a bit of time off from it.  We still have a lot of content from CES 2011 we want to share with everyone and we will mix it in with reviews and questions posted to the community out there.   So stay tuned as we work hard to give you the latest in tech news!

A quick question to you all out there. What do you think of all the Android 3.0 tablets coming out? Do you think they are different enough from each other that consumers will be able to tell? Will the market be flooded with too many Android 3.0 tablets that are alike. All come with a Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor and stock Android 3.0 and anywhere from 9.7 inch to 10.1 inch display and HD video recording and some come with front facing cameras for video chat. Besides the 3D camera that stand out in the LG Optimus Pad what do the others have to offer that are significantly different? Share your thoughts here or on our many channels for discussion!

Yeah just as weird and a shocking as the title sounds there is really a Nexus Two and it sounds like it is made by Samsung. The Nexus Two is said to be real and made by Samsung. Not much is currently known outside of what Gizmodo has from a hands on from a reliable source knows about.   This could lead to the planned  Samsung event coming little more than a week from now. So be sure to read the excerpt and vote in the poll.

The Nexus Two is real. It’s made by Samsung, and a friend of ours got to play with it. It’s not going rock your face like the Nexus One did. But it will record it with a front-facing camera.

"When I first saw it from 10 feet away, I thought it was the Galaxy S," says our source, who got to handle one. "I was a little surprised it was the Nexus Two," because it’s so different from the Nexus One.

It’s black and shiny, built with glossy plastic. Up close, though, it’s "got this curve to it." While the screen, which our source thinks is the same 4-inch AMOLED affair from the Galaxy series, is flat, the front is "sort of concave" with hard edges. And the back is curved. The tapering makes it feel thinner than Galaxy S, though it might be about the same thickness. "It feels really similar to the Galaxy S in a lot ways." (Note: Our mockup is very approximate.)

Externally, the main difference from all of the current Galaxy S variants in the US is that it’s got a front-facing camera, and it’s running a stock build of Android that was still "really buggy." (Update: Forgot about the Epic 4G, which has a front camera.) Our source wasn’t sure if the internals were any different. Google’s supposedly trying to building video chat into Gingerbread, using the same protocol as Google Talk. So it makes sense that the flagship phone for the next year—the one that most Googlers will probably be developing on—comes with a front-facing camera, even if video chat doesn’t quite make it into Gingerbread.

At first blush, it’s a little disappointing that Google possibly isn’t pushing things forward in the same way they did with the Nexus One, since it seems like the Nexus Two is a refreshed Galaxy phone. On the other hand, it says a lot that the Android ecosystem is so stocked with high-powered phones, from the Evo to the Droid X, that even Google won’t radically jump ahead of its partners with a new flagship. Hopefully their plan for selling it is a little better.

What I do have is an appreciation for technology, and there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Apple is a significant player in the tech world and as such, deserves a little coverage.

So, a little about me. By day I’m a tech support specialist at a medical software company in the greater Boston area. By night, I’m a part-time student at Boston University, going for my Master’s Degree in Computer Science. I also happen to be a friend of Bowman’s since our college days and appreciate the passion he brings to the tech scene. Recently we were talking, and he invited me to start writing for his blog. I accepted, and the rest, my friends, is history.
